Yorkshire South retain title at national industry awards

• Yorkshire South retain title for ‘Best Convention Bureau’ at Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards

• Yorkshire South Tourism ranked in the UK top three convention bureaus

Monday 22^nd February 2010 saw Yorkshire South Tourism attend the Meetings & Incentive Travel industry awards and go on to retain their bronze title for ‘Best Convention Bureau’. The award- recognising the arm that brings in major conferences to our region- is a great achievement for the partnership which is now ranked in the top three, coming third to strong competition from gold winner Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and silver winner, NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau.

 The Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards recognise and reward excellence, and are the result of voting by the readers of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine - with votes audited and verified by the independent Audit Bureau of Circulations. The Awards are the oldest and most established in the meetings and incentive industry and competition is fierce.

 Yorkshire South Tourism, which was awarded ‘Best UK Destination’ at International Confex in 2008 and 2009, is the official convention bureau for Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley and provides a whole range of integrated services for regional, national and international buyers looking to place conferences and events.
